Season 4 for 'The Almighty Johnsons' is Uncertain: Here's What You Can Do

Alas, the final episode of Season 3 has aired in New Zealand.  Not sure what TV3NZ's timeline/time frame is for show renewals/cancellations and when they'll make a decision about Season 4, but it can't hurt to keep contacting them and let them know you love the show. Here's some motivation from Lord Odin himself:

And there's more than 1,000 signatures on the fan petition to bring the show back for a 4th season.  If you haven't signed it and would like to, click the link below (lavender color) or in the right side bar. As an added note, I'm not the originator of the petition and do not take credit for creating it. Just sharing the link. :)

Update:  Online Fan Campaign

Another way to show support. Fans have created an online petition asking TV3NZ to renew 'The Almighty Johnsons for a 4th season. As I understand it, promos for the last episode are saying it's the series finale. If you love the show and the cast, and don't want Season 3 to be the last, please consider signing. Just click on the link below.

Calling all 'The Almighty Johnsons' fans: As it currently stands, the show is battling low ratings and is facing cancellation. What can we do? In the words of Jared Turner, "make some noise!" Jared recently tweeted that all questions about season 4 should be directed to TV3 New Zealand. Here are some contact details for TV3 and a message to fans via Jared's Facebook page:

For everyone who's asking about Season 4, it's probably best to direct your questions to TV3 New Zealand on:

  1. The finale to season three was heartbreaking when I realized that, this was it...it was all over. Never with another television series have I felt like there should have been more. While the send off was well-crafted, I couldn't help but feel cheated. Three years with the Johnsons was no where near enough!

    2. they are no longer gods, just ordinary people now i would think it only gets boring from here, unless they got the powers back.

    3. I think that red crsytal that loki threw should lock their god powers on earth so they stay gods

  4. I'm a huge fan and have recruited many friends as fans. I also live in Canada, where the series has only recently been introduced on Space.
I've signed the petition with the following comment:
"Almighty Johnsons: Everything about this show is fantastic. The writing is incredibly smart and manages to successfully span several genres. The actors bring the supernatural characters back down to earth, making them totally relatable to the viewers.
Season 4: Having only recently been introduces to the Canadian and other markets, its potential and popularity is, as of yet, untapped. It is quickly gaining fans world-wide thanks to the buzz it has generated via internet.
Although the last episode of season 3 tidied things up nicely, I believe in my heart that the writers would be more than capable of coming up with future episodes/seasons."

    -Sending support from Canada
    Cheers

  5. Thanks for the comments, all. :D I'm a U.S. fan myself and just discovered the show as Season 3 premiered. I've been watching the DVDs and was hooked from Episode 1. The concept is so original. Honestly, it's been quite some time since a TV series has made me laugh this much. And then there were the Season 3 tears. I attribute that to the brilliant screenwriting and acting. It's so easy to become attached to the characters. In my opinion, it's been a refreshing change from the same old dramas, comedies, and reality shows. From all of the online comments I've read on FB pages, twitter, etc., it's clear that fans in NZ, the UK, and Canada love the show. Add in those Americans who have had the opportunity to watch the DVDs and have been won over. And the show is due to make its debut on U.S. screens in early 2014. Not only would fans across the globe love a 4th season, there is also a great amount of interest in having a Region 1 version of all three seasons. I guess we have to continue to sit and wait until TV3NZ makes a decision. In the meantime, we're already missing Axl, Anders, Ty, Mike, and Grandpa.

  6. I thought it wrapped up really nice. I'd love to see more but I'd hate if they ruined the great ending.

  7. Hi TV3

Please could you commision a 4th series of the Almighty Johnsons. I'm from the UK and I love it but I feel it has suffered from a lack of advertising over here. Its not often you get an original fantasy drama, bur you have nailed it with the AJ. The show ranks alongside Doctor Who as far as i'm concerned and is the greatest show to ever come out of New Zealand. The show is developing a cult follwing over here and a growing following online, so please renew it and make this fan very happy!

  8. My friends and I were so pleased when the Almighty Johnsons got a third season and we're only halfway through it at the moment in the UK. If you could see your way to coming up with a season four before we reach the end then that would make things so much less traumatic for us. It's our sanity we're talking about here.

  9. at the end colin thew a red glowing stone you cannot leave that on cliffhanger plus with ty able to get his powers back could that not happen with the rest of them plus with zeb not remembering axel but for 20 years when axel wasnt a 'god' per say shouldnt zeb remember all them years before axel became a god anyrate season 4 should happen as there is still alot of the story to be told specially it would be good to see everyone in Asgard as their last avatars.

  10. Daniel that would make a really great story line , to see the johnsons in asgard , as we know to see them acting in their godly roles , discussing what is to be done with the mortals who sheltered them and when they look down on earth they see all the ways that the mortal johnsons are screwing up and feel it is that they owe them some how and send they mortal selves visions or signs and loki , well he would jsut mess with them just for the fun of it , maybe even having their godly powers shapeshift in to mortal forms to do soemthing ,

would be a really great plotline for series 4 without ruining the almost perfect ending , would have been nice to have axel get back with gaia , but she wouldnt remember him at all and would be really strange.

well done for the great acting , it must have been really hard to act such a git, and still do it with dignity

    1. Gaia would remember him. It is only the mortals that forget them. And Gaia was not a mortal. An interesting teaser would have been to show Gaia when Idoun left her and have here realize that she could now return to NZ and choose who she wishes, without the godly intervention.

  12. I love this show please bring a season 4 surely that cant be it they leave the body and that's it. I think season 4 should be where they come back because I remember Frigg saying she was on the goddesses side and the face of the brother when she cut him he didn't seem he was pleased with what she was doing considering it suppose to be his duty, I think they should come back because Frigg was evil and not good

  16. Hi all. I'm the site admin checking in. Wish I had some news about the status of the show but I've heard nothing. Just to clarify, I don't have any connection to TV3NZ or Dean's management, so I know as much as the rest of the fandom. No idea if the petition made any difference. Hopefully the 'powers that be' have at least seen your comments and feedback about renewing the show for a 4th season. On that note, we continue to sit and wonder.

  21. Have watched The Almightly Johnsons from the get-go here in the UK, loved every minute (as does my wife). Even managed to bring in some converts via the winder of Netflix. The final episode of Season 3 is due to air this coming week, although, judging from the current status, it will feel somewhat bittersweet. I'll certainly sign any relevant petitions to try and keep this wonderful show going.

  37. I'm Binge setting series 3 at the moment. I think too many great series are lost because production companies don't adapt to how people watch great series like AJs.
One thing we can all do is show the demand for the programs by watching catch up TV which will be monitored by services like UK's SkyTV.

I've not completed series 3 yet, but deffo want a series 4.
    Andy, UK.

  38. Love love loved almighty johnsons!!! Ahh would die if they did one more season. I need to see if gaia would come back and make a go of it with axle. Need to know if all the other gods left their mortal skins. And seriously need to know if the so called frig was meant to come off dodgy (future plot) or if I just didnt like her cause I knew it was soon to be over.
Must say why didnt the goddesses cut edrasiel (?) in half and have a bsck up. They shaved some off and it still worked.
And the red stone of lokis... must know what that was about... too many open ends, NEED MORE!!!
